Africa 100 is collection of afrobeat songs compiled by Pitchfork Media writer Joe Tangari in 2005.[1] The origin of the collection, which Tangari put together on seven CDs for listening in the car, is explained in his 2010 article "The Indestructible Beat",[1] which also recounts the history of afrobeat and includes a track-by-track analysis. Africa 100 has never been released commercially, but circulates as an illegal download.
