The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (Georgian: საქართველოს შინაგან საქმეთა სამინისტროს აკადემია, sak'art'velos shinagan sak'met'a akademia), also known as the Police Academy of Georgia (საქართველოს პოლიციის აკადემია, sak'art'velos polits'iis akademia), is a national police academy of Georgia, established in 1994 on the basis of the Soviet-era University of Militsiya, whose history goes back to 1925. It is based in Tbilisi and operated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA).[1]

Beginning in 2004, the Academy underwent major modernization with the support of international donors.[2] Further, it took control of the Special Training Center, a successor of the former Academy of the State Security, in 2006, and the MIA Archive in 2012.[1]
