Prof. KH. Abdel Kahar Moezakir or new spelling Abdul Kahar Muzakir, was chosen Rector Magnificus Islamic University of Indonesia for the first time with the name of STI during two periods – 1945–48 and 1948–60 – he was a member of BPUPKI (Committee for Preparatory Work for Indonesian Independence).[1]
Muslim leaders who had been a member of Dokuritsu Zunby Tjoosakai (Committee for Preparatory Work for Indonesian Independence) is also retained when UII is presented in lieu of STI on June 4, 1948 and served as Rector until 1960 UII.
At the time he proposed to sparingly awarded the title of a national hero.[2]
