Keratsini FC

Keratsini FC (official name A.P.O. Keratsiniou) is a Greek club, based in Keratsini, a suburb of Piraeus. It plays in Piraeus local championship (EPS Piraeus). The last season (2014–15), it finished in the 1st place of 1st Piraeus Division, in 1st group.^[1] In the past, Keratsini has played in Gamma Ethniki (3rd-tier level).

History

Keratsini is a Greek football club founded in 1926 by the late Mpiskos and Diatsigkos with the name AO Neapoli, who later saw the ESKO IE.^[2] the Union Clubs Keratsini Orfeas. It was one of the four founding clubs of Piraeus Fca. In 1926 the team having taken root well in Keratsini renamed Athletic Football Club (Keratsini). The current Club received its final form in 1968 by merging with the AO Amfiali. From the APO Keratsini emerged top footballers such as Costas Choumis, transferred in Romania, legendary Bagiakakos, Chamodrakos, Politis, Varnalis, Aggelos Kremmydas,Doulgeroglou,Kleisaris and many younger, still playing in national categories. Very Important were also the Presidents of APO Keratsini. Gkamilis and Kalamitsis (also Presidents of EPSP), Miltiades Marinakis, Kolokotronis, Kidonakis, Mposinakis, Marathiwtis, Kalafatis and others. In 1991 the Keratsini climbed for the first time in the Fourth Division, and in 1994 in Gamma Ethniki. In 1994 he arrived in Greek Amateur Cup final and lose on penalties (5-4) by Poseidon Michaniona. The 1997 climbs again in Gamma Ethniki League where he plays until 2000. In 2004 climbed again in Gamma Ethniki where he played until 2006. For the season 2006-2007 it competes in Regional League (Fourth Division) and it relegates to the local league.The season 2007-2008 wins the local championship with a record of 25 wins in 26 games and promotes to Fourth division. For the seasons 2008-2013 is one of the best teams of fourth Division and plays twice in Piraeus Cup Final(2010-2012). Has won 4 times the Piraeus Cup, the years 1990, 1995, 1996, 2010.^[3]
