The 2016 Dundalk F.C. season is the club's 114th season of existence, and their 8th consecutive season in the League of Ireland Premier Division. The club enters the 2016 as the defending league champions. Additionally, Dundalk will be participating in the 2016–17 UEFA Champions League.
This was the first season in Irish football history that an Irish club was guaranteed a berth into the group stage of a UEFA club competition, by the virtue of reaching the play-off round of the Champions League.
Dundalk were crowned champions for the third year in a row on 23 October after a 2-1 win against Bohemians.[1][2]
