|
The 2006 NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey Tournament involved 16 schools playing in single-elimination play to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college ice hockey. It began on March 24, 2006, and ended with the championship game on April 8. A total of 15 games were played.
The University of Wisconsin–Madison, coached by Mike Eaves, won their sixth national title with a 2-1 victory in the final game over Boston College, coached by Jerry York. The Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey team won the 2006 NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Tournament marking the first time the same school won both the Division I men's and women's championship in the same year.
Robbie Earl, forward for Wisconsin, was named the Frozen Four Most Outstanding Player.
