2006 Book Sense Book of the Year Awards

The 2006 Book Sense Book of the Year Awards was the final running of the American Booksellers Association annual Book Sense Book of the Year Awards. The award was created in 2000, when the American Bookseller Book Of The Year award, that ran from 1991 to 2000, was renamed. The books that were awarded were chosen by book stores that participated in the American Booksellers Association's Book Sense program.[1] Books published in 2005 were eligible for the award and voting took place from 24 January to 28 February 2006.[2] Winners were announced on 16 March 2006. Winning received a plaque in honor of their achievement and a prize from the Levenger Company.[3] In 2008, Book Sense was renamed IndieBound and the award was renamed the Indies Choice Book Awards.[1][4]
