The 1997 Cap-Rouge earthquake was a magnitude 5.2 earthquake that struck southern Quebec, Canada on November 5, 1997 at 9:34 PM EST.[1] It was felt in southern Quebec, eastern Ontario, and parts of New England, United States.[1] A total of 17 aftershocks were recorded.[1] USGS reported that there was one death from a heart attack at the time of the earthquake.[2]
