113th Battalion (Lethbridge Highlanders), CEF

The 113th Battalion (Lethbridge Highlanders), CEF, was an infantry battalion of the Great War Canadian Expeditionary Force. The 113th Battalion was authorized on 22 December 1915 and embarked for Britain on 25 September 1916, where its personnel were absorbed by the 17th Reserve Battalion, CEF, on 8 October 1916 to provide reinforcements for the Canadian Corps in the field. The battalion disbanded on 1 September 1917.94[1]

The 113th Battalion recruited in, and was mobilized at, Lethbridge, Alberta.[2]

The 113th Battalion was commanded by Lt.-Col. A.W. Pryce Jones from 6 to 8 October 1916.[3]

The 113th Battalion was awarded the battle honour THE GREAT WAR 1916.[4]

The 113th Battalion (Lethbridge Highlanders), CEF, is perpetuated by the South Alberta Light Horse.[5]
