107.9 ABC Ballarat, callsign 3CRR, is an ABC Local Radio station in Ballarat, Victoria. ABC Ballarat is one of the newest stations in the network, opened on 30 June 2003.[1] The station is the largest regional ABC station in Victoria and serves Ballarat, Ararat and Daylesford, as well as parts of south-west Victoria including Hamilton, Port Fairy, and Warrnambool through ABC South West Victoria.[1]
A local breakfast program is presented by Dominic Brine from 6.00am to 7.45am, in addition to a south-west Victorian morning program hosted by Steve Martin between 8.30am and 11.00am.[1] Two journalists work at the station producing content for both ABC Ballarat and ABC South West Victoria.[1] The regional Statewide Drive program (3 - 6 PM) is also broadcast from the Ballarat studios. It is presented by Nicole Chvastek and covers Victoria, southern New South Wales and a small part of eastern South Australia. It does not broadcast into the Melbourne metro area.
